3/11/2011
We are very pleased to announce the results of the DAF Apprentice Award Ceremony which was held on Wednesday 26th October 2011 at Bristol.
There were eight Ford & Slater HGV apprentice technicians who attended the graduation ceremony and were awarded their BTEC/NVQ certificate in motor vehicle maintenance and repair. Ford & Slater had the 2nd highest number of qualified technicians of the dealer network.
A number of Ford & Slater apprentices also achieved top 10 positions within their respective college year groups and spent yesterday competing in the Apprentice of the Year award finals. Shane Marrows of Ford & Slater Kings Lynn was ranked 1st overall in the 2nd year finals which was an outstanding achievement and followed his 2nd place last year in the 1st Year Finals.
Kane Gamble (Ford & Slater Corby) also received his IMI Management Certificates after 12 months of additional study.
Nigel Strevens, Joint Managing Director of Ford & Slater, commented "The HGV Technicians worked very hard to achieve their results over a long period of time. Thanks are also due to the many individuals - experienced technicians, supervisors and managers within the service dept who support our training efforts and helped achieve these excellent results. It is a pleasure for the directors to attend an event where we celebrate so much hard work and achievement by so many young persons. Thank you to everyone involved."
